How AI credits actually work.

Your subscription includes a monthly allowance of AI credits that cover voice calls, WhatsApp messages, and AI-powered features. For most garages, the included allowance covers normal usage comfortably.

A bay is anything you would put on a schedule. That includes lifts, ramps, MOT bays, bodyshop bays, flat bays, and even a mobile van that travels to site. If you have two lifts, an MOT bay, and a mobile van, that’s four bays. Some garages count individual mechanics as a bay if they schedule work per person. The rule is simple: if it needs its own column in the diary, it’s a bay.

Yes, at any time. Changes take effect on your next billing cycle. Growing your workshop shouldn’t mean renegotiating a contract.

Yes. Annual is £75 per bay per month versus £100 monthly – 25% off. For a single-bay garage, that’s £900/year instead of £1,200/year, paid up front for the year. A 3-bay garage on annual pays £2,700/year instead of £3,600/year. A 7-bay garage pays £6,300/year instead of £8,400/year.

You can still cancel early during the annual term and get a pro-rata refund — see How to cancel your subscription for the exact mechanics. The 30-day cooling-off applies to annual subs as well as monthly ones, so you’ve got a full month to test the system before the annual commitment is locked in.

Different pricing model. AutoChain charges per system at £69.99/month and includes unlimited employees, but adds £15/month each for parts management, tyre management, and SMS reminders, plus £39.99/month for OEM technical data. For a single-bay garage with the full feature set, you’d be at £130+/month before reaching feature parity. TorqueFlow is £75 per bay per month on annual (or £100 monthly) with everything included — Voice AI, WhatsApp, AI invoice scanning, Xero integration, customer portal, parts management, SMS, the lot. For a 1-bay shop with only core features, AutoChain at £69.99 is fractionally cheaper than TorqueFlow’s £75 annual. For a 1-bay shop using full features, or any 2+ bay setup on annual, TorqueFlow is cheaper and you get the AI features AutoChain doesn’t have at all.

AI usage has a real underlying cost – every voice call, every WhatsApp reply, every invoice extraction is computational work paid to AI providers. Bundling unlimited AI into a fixed price would force us to choose between charging everyone the heavy-user rate or rate-limiting the heavy users. Credits let normal usage feel free (it’s covered by the included allowance) while heavy users pay proportionally. For a typical 2-bay garage, the included AI credits cover all normal voice, messaging, and invoice-scanning usage with the only credit cost being the Xero integration’s 50/month if you connect it.

Three honest reasons. First, annual customers cost us less to serve — one card charge a year instead of twelve, less churn admin, fewer payment-failure retries. Second, annual customers are committing to a year, which lets us plan capacity and AI infrastructure with more confidence. Third, the discount nudges customers to make a real decision rather than drift into the rolling-monthly default. We pass roughly all of those savings back as the 25% off.
