Card Payments for Garages
Charge the card at the desk. The invoice pays itself.
A customer’s at the front desk, keys in hand, ready to pay by card. On most systems that means a separate card machine, a total typed in twice, and a payment you’ll match against the invoice later tonight if you remember. Two devices, two records, one more job for future-you.
Torqueflow charges the card straight from the invoice. Connect a TakePayments terminal, open the invoice, tap Charge card terminal, and hand the customer the device. They insert their card, enter the PIN, and the invoice flips to Paid with the receipt attached. The payment’s recorded against the job the moment it’s approved. No second total, no reconciling, nothing to forget.
How it works
Charge an invoice. The rest happens on its own.
Four taps from balance due to Paid, with the receipt filed and the payment posted against the job.
No separate machine
Charge from the invoice, not a separate machine
Open any unpaid invoice, tap Charge card terminal, pick the device, and the amount’s already filled in from the balance. Hand it over. The customer taps or inserts their card, enters the PIN, and within seconds the invoice is Paid. The receipt lands on the invoice automatically.
Because the charge starts from the invoice, the payment can only attach to the right job. There’s no “which invoice was that £180 for?” at the end of the day.
Supported terminals
Works over WiFi or 4G
The terminals run on WiFi or 4G, straight from your TakePayments merchant account. No cables, no dock, no pairing dance with a till.
A second payment rail
A second way to take cards
TakePayments sits alongside Stripe as a second payment rail, and there are good reasons to run both.
